UFC 112 Breakdown

I have never done this... until now.
Last night was a historical night for the UFC. Two championship bouts in one night; the second double championship bout night in a row. There were a lot of expectations. I am a fan of some fighters that I had overlooked in the past and I am throwing the towel in on one of my most-admired fighters as well.
First of all:
Mark Munoz and Phil Davis: You guys were in VERY bad predictaments and you pulled it out. Excellent heart! I am a fan.
Second of all:
Matt Hughes/Renzo Gracie: Really?!?! Could there be any more respect shown between the two of you then there was. I have never seen a fighter get knocked down as many times as Renzo, and offer his hand out for the opposing fighter to pick him back up.. and Matt did. It was incredibly classy. It was fun to watch. It was competition at its best. It was good for the sport. Thank you.
Third:
Frankie Edgar in the HOUSE! Frankie, you blew it out! You prepared, you conditioned and you fought an incredible fight. I am now a fan. A big fan!
Fourth:
Anderson Silva, you were a disgrace to the sport of mixed martial arts. You have been called the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Being the best means more than show-boating. It means more than jumping around like a moron. It means actually fighting. It means showing some class for your opponent and your sport. You did none of those things. People can call you what they want. I call you an embarrassment.
Blogging friends, I am a huge fan of mixed martial arts. I find it fascinating and a lot of fun to watch. Thanks to B-Dub, Emilyah, Jim Jim and my Germy for always watching the fights with me... and for the pong action in the garage. You guys are the best.
