Today, so far

The alarm went off at 6:15 a.m., I think. I heard Nickelback in the speakers. Then, I heard the snooze button pushed, hard. The alarm went off at 6:20 a.m., I think. This time I heard a full four minute song play in the speaker. Then, I heard my Jeremy get up, turn the shower on and I drifted back to sleep. I felt his lips touch my cheek (the one that wasn't buried in my cacoon of sleepiness.) Then, I drifted back to sleep.
It snowed a bit last night, just enough to ruin the shoveling job that was done a couple of days ago. The house was quiet. The kids aren't here and I wonder how they slept and what they ate for breakfast.
I put on my Yankees ball cap, threw on my tennis shoes and reviewed my grocery list. Amazingly, we still have toilet paper and cereal. These ARE the two most vital things in our house.
I gathered up our change jar. I headed to the grocery store. I dumped our change into the CoinStar machine and grumbled to myself about having to pay 8.9 cents for every dollar. Then, I headed to the pharmacy and asked for a $10 gift card, because all of my comeback cards combined had enough. They obliged.
I loaded up the cart. Checked out. Said hello to my favorite baggers. Left.
Then, I went and highlighted my freckles. It felt like a little bit of Heaven for about 15 minutes.
Came home to quiet, again. I miss my kids. I miss Jeremy. Turned on football, started another load of laundry, opened a Diet DP, put away food, and plopped in my computer desk chair to write.
Now, a talk will be written for Jacks. A lesson will be prepared for our new Primary class. A salad will be made, chip dip prepared, football watched, a coloring book colored, carrots eaten, and happiness had when my family joins me.
Until then...
