My day...so far...at noon

Jeremy and I got home from the gym this morning to a light on upstairs. Weird! We went upstairs and found Colton, with a fever and THAT look...you know the one- the one that says "I am going to puke!" Oh great, I thought. I HAVE to be at work today. Jeremy can't use any sick time. What in the world are we going to do??? After he heaved into the toilet for several minutes, he got dressed and laid on Daddy's bed. Jeremy called his boss and told her his son was throwing up and that he could only go in for a couple of hours today. He is AMAZING. Really amazing. So, Colton put some clean jammies on, grabbed his blankie and dropped brothers off at school with me...then headed into Mommy's office. He needed to be held...a lot. He drank some juice and ate some crackers, then he put his head down on my desk. My sweet VP told me not to sweat it and not to worry that he was there with me. Jer came at 10ish to get him, took him home and put him in bed.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't a working mom. Is that SO selfish? Sometimes I wish that I could have stayed home, put him in a warm bath, made him some chicken noodle soup and let him lay on my lap all day. But, that's not my situation. I have to work, and that's okay. I have a great job and I work with amazing people. AND, my husband is always there for me. He never makes me feel like I am doing this alone. He picks up where I leave off, and sometimes I leave off at the start line. He makes sure that everything is okay for us.

In other news, today Grandma and Grandpa went and had lunch at the school with the three older boys. They have been SO excited for this!! I got a new pair of pants for work, that fit, for $6.24 last night. Kaydon and Colton now have shoes that have NO holes in them. Jackson is doing awesome in soccer. Braxton might work out better as a kicker for a football team- you know he goes in a few times during the whole game, kicks the ball REALLY far and then can go back to the sideline and dance or play or whatever it is he wants to do... My life is good. I am a lucky, lucky gal.
