Mothers Day for me...
My Grandma Nef is my maternal Grandmother. She has vibrant red hair, and is SO proud of it. She is smart, efficient, well respected, and very out-going. She is the premier entertainer and loves to host parties of all kinds. I think that I gained my love of entertaining from her as well as her ability to talk to anyone...I am a people-person because of Grandma Nef.
My Grandma Robb is my paternal Grandmother. She was quiet, stalwart, faithful, loving, compassionate, true, soft and feminine. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She was poetic, positive and beautiful. This year her birthday is on Mother's Day. As I write this, tears flow freely down my already damp cheeks. Oh, how I miss her. Oh, how I wish I could call her on this day, and so many others. Oh, how I wish I could hold her hand and let her hold mine. I miss her. I love her. I talk to her still...even though I cannot see her.
My Mother in Law, Frankie Manwell, is my other mom. She is strong, dependable, funny, creative, outspoken, comforting and lovely. She makes me smile when things don't seem too fun. She makes me believe in myself and she reminds me that things will be okay. She loves our children, and oh, how they love her.
Kristine Nef Robb is my Mama. She is graceful, warm, honest, maticulous, brave and caring. She is my best friend. She is easy to talk to, easy to listen to, easy to love, and easy to believe in. She is, and always has been, a master of doing it all, even when it has already been done. She is a star.
I am a Mommy to six children who I can't imagine my life without. I always pictured myself as mommy, although a much better mommy than I am. I am so grateful to wake up to my quorum on Mother's Day morning. I so look forward to the creative gifts that they bring home from school. I treasure them. I look at them often. I love them.
I can't tell you how much I miss my girls on this day. It is a bitter sweet day for me. I wish that I could see them and hear them on Mother's Day, but am grateful that they have a wonderful mother, Lacie. She is a terrific mother who loves her children and who cares for them in a very loving way. I celebrate her on this day as well. Finally, I am surrounded by friends and neighbors who also exemplify Motherhood everyday and who make me want to be better. They are creative, positive, fun and loving to their children and how blessed I am to be amongst them everyday.
Motherhood is a gift, the greatest of all jobs...the greatest of all callings...the greatest thing ever!
happy mothers day to you.....i'm STILL convinced that you are supermom!
