FAMILY

The past few days Heidi and I have been approached by a few people and they always seem to remind us that family is the most important thing. The definition that I found online goes like this: Any group of persons closely related by blood, as parents, children, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Also a group of people who are generally not blood relations but who share common attitudes, interests, or goals and, live together.

Is this what makes a family??

Growing up in a family where both my parents were mine I guess I was naive to think that the kids that grew up in two home families were only in movies. Then one day it happened. I was now divorced and found Heidi, who was also divorced. We brought our two families together. We have heard many terms for what our family is: mixed, blended, combined, and our favorite "Brady Bunch". Our kids at this point know no different. They all know they have two moms, two dads, a whole lot of aunts and uncles and cousins that love them and a couple sets of grandparents that spoil them all the time. Guess it doesn't matter who is there or what their title is, if the kids love you, you are family. Our kids seem to love so many people that help their parents out. They always look forward to special dinners that people bring or eating out with grandparents. Sometimes Heidi and I just have to sit back and let our kids be loved by others. As hard as it is being prideful, it's how they learn to love back and to help others.

Another definition that I found that I really like is: A unit of the Mafia or Cosa Nostra operating in one area under a local leader.

Aren't we all just one big unit of the 'Mafia' ? Think about, we all call each other brother and sisters. Everyone is always looking out for each other and when trouble arises there are so many willing to help no matter what it is.

Heidi and I just want to thank everyone in our MAFIA for anything and everything that they have done for us, big or small. Kudos to you and yours!!

Remember, it's always about FAMILY!!
