Ok...so it's possible that no one besides me thinks that this is a little bit funny...but Colton has started this little true/false deal where he will tell me a story, such as, "Mom, Landon is going to bring a CROCODILE to school tomorrow for show and tell." Then I say, "Wow! Won't it bite people?!" And Colton says, "No, Landon is just going to sit on the crocodile's mouth, mom!" At what point I ask, "Colton, is that a true story or not a true story?" "NOT A TRUE STORY MOM!" He does this about ten times a day...where he tells me a story, which I am pretty sure is not true (meaning it's a lie!), and I ask him if it's a true story or not a true story, and he'll just come right out and tell me. The problem is that the stories are pretty outrageous, and so I am usually giggling while I am basically asking him if he is a big fat liar, which does NOT help the whole discipline thing for lying...but I can't help it...he's funny...BAD MOM...BAD, BAD MOM!
Hilarious! I don't know what I'd do in that situation...but I'm sure I'll come across the same scenario eventually! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeletethat is so funny. What a funny funny boy! I am impressed by his imagination. I'm sure eventually you'll have to address lieing, but for now just enjoy his larger than life "not truths".
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a fabulous day!
